What 'Mumbai girl' Rani loves about Delhi

Labels:

And why she wore a jumpsuit to yet another event

Bengali beauty Rani Mukerji proudly calls herself a "Mumbai girl" and says the only thing she misses in the Indian financial capital is Delhi's beautiful winter.

The actress shot for her upcoming film ‘No One Killed Jessica’ here during the winter.

"I am fond of Delhi winter, something I experienced only when I was here for the shooting of the movie last year in December. It was beautiful. I call myself a 'Mumbai girl' because it has given me everything, but Delhi in winter is just lovely," Rani said.

Dressed in a black jumpsuit, Rani was in the city to cheer her designer friend Sabyasachi Mukherjee on the opening show of Pearls Infrastructure Projects Ltd (PIPL) Delhi Couture Week Tuesday.

Asked why she was not wearing a Sabyasachi sari, she said: "Sabya had sent me a wonderful outfit. Unfortunately, I left one of its pieces in Mumbai, so I had no other choice but to wear this jumpsuit.

Vow!! Lovingly cute, the bubbly Rani Mukherjee may not be very much involved in shootings but the lass yesterday showed her blend of style and her panache to be in comfort redefining the ‘cool’ quotient.

Dressed in a sleeveless harem jumpsuit had plunging scoop neckline, cinched drop waist and elastic harem bottom cuffs. She accessorized with silver metallic tote, two tone green cross strap heels with wide wraparound ankle straps, and a chunky black strap watch on her left hand.

Her shoulder draping hair, styled in loose waves, framed her face. Cinnamon lipstick, bronze eye shadow and thick kohl liner accentuated her gorgeous looks. She stayed for a few moments and left along with Karan Johar after wishing all the best to her ex co- star Aamir who paired with her in ‘Gulam’ and they both became a hit jodi overnight after the super success of Aamir debut as a singer with ‘Aati Kya Khandala’.

Luck ka mamala, Well, we don,t know but Aamir is not leaving any stone unturned to ensure maximum returns for his satire ‘Peepli Live’ and yesterday at his music launch, all the near and dear ones of Aamir where present to wish him luck like Ashutosh Gowariker, Rakesh Mehra, Raju Hirani, Sharman, Kareena Kapoor, Ronnie Screwala, and the latest entry Karan Johar.

Anyways, Rani looked lovely and was enjoying all the attention she got from Aamir, his wife Kiran and Karan Johar, with whom she even got a little playful. Rani is currently working with co-star Vidya Balan for No One Killed Jessica.Source URL: http://threemoonsevolving.blogspot.com/search/label/Rani%20Mukherjee

Rani sets good example on TV show

She’s beating other celebrities with her professionalism

Rani Mukerji, who debuts on the small screen as the judge of Sony TV's new reality show "Dance Premier League", impressed the whole unit with her punctuality and professionalism.

"She was there dot on time, ready with make-up on before some of the other celebrities had even arrived in the studio. Once on the sets, she proved her total professionalism," said a source from the show.

"More than that, she has proved that she is a perfectionist. Even before the director could decide he needed another take, she called for it herself and redid the takes until she was satisfied with the result. It definitely pays to work with Aamir Khan at the beginning of one's career. After all, a leaf from his book will only hold good," added the source.

Is Aditya Chopra behind Rani’s TV debut?

Filmmaker shares good relationship with channel

Rani Mukerji was the last name announced by Sony TV to be the judge in the ongoing dance reality show, “Dance Premier League” (DPL).

Was it Aditya Chopra’s reference that got her the show?

Sony TV and Yash Raj Films (YRF) share a very good business relationship.

It seems that just two days before Sony made the announcement about Rani being part of the show, the channel signed an agreement with YRF for producing exclusive fiction and non-fiction content for the channel. So now, Aditya Chopra and his talented team at YRF will be working as producers to create exclusive content for Sony TV.

Incidentally the timing of both the agreements was quite interesting. YRF’s deal with Sony and Rani being part of DPL happened almost simultaneously.

We wonder whether Rani came as a packaged deal for Sony as part of the agreement with YRF?

Meanwhile, while shooting for the second episode of DPL, Rani communicated with one of the participants using sign language that she had learnt five years ago for her movie “Black”, in which she played a deaf and mute character.

One of the contestants on the show, Vishal, who was considered one of the best, was unfortunately deaf. After his performance, when it was the judges’ turn to comment, all of them spoke but Vishal could not understand a word.

That’s when Rani conversed with him in sign language and even congratulated him for being different. While everyone danced on the sound, Vishal had danced guided by his instincts and that’s what impressed Rani.
