Pinking Up...

I bought myself something this weekend. It was a cardigan in the palest shade of pink I have ever been able to find. I fairly bolted into the shop where I spied it, and it quickly has become my favourite clothing purchase in a long time. Pink is a shade I have loved since girlhood. I love the way it makes our cheeks look rosier and how feminine we feel in it.

That said, my daughter always questions why I don't have more of it in our home - which is a very good question, considering I always vow it is my favourite colour. Indeed, I read a very good book over the holidays, The Well-Dressed Home, by Annette Tatum, and it reaffirmed my belief that we should take inspiration from our closets (current or dream) when decorating our homes. Having seen this room - found in her book - featured in Country living a while back, I solemly (but silently) declared it to contain sofas slipcovered in the perfect shade of delicate pink.

While I have found my own pursuit of that perfect shade in accessories and furnishings elusive, here is what I found to share of some pink I just might consider for my own home if the world was the fantasy place we would all like it to be:

Amazing Rounded House Design in Australia

Amazing Rounded House Design in Australia

The Mobeius house was created by Tony Owen Partners in Sydney, Australia. The amazing rounded house design was the concept of the client with the intention of maximizing reddened and developing a concept a bit different than the accepted \"90 degree right angles\" found in most homes. As a result almost everything is custom in the home including the windows, frame and roof. The frame is created of steel that had to be specially cut to create the rounded look. Once the frame was up the rest of the features could be built and fastened to ensure the proper shape was kept throughout the house construction process.

History of Alphabet | Graffiti Alphabet Letters

    Graffiti Alphabet Letters
History of Alphabet | Graffiti Alphabet Letters. Graffiti alphabet letters with a hand symbol

History and graffiti style alphabet letters AZ began in ancient Egypt. By 2700 BCE Egyptian writing had a set of some 22 hieroglyphs to represent syllables that begin with a single consonant of their language, plus a vowel (or no vowel) to be given by native speakers. This glyph is used as a guide for pronunciation logograms, to write grammatical inflections, and, later, to write down loan words and foreign names.

However, although it seems alphabet in nature, the original Egyptian uniliterals not a system and never used by themselves to encode Egyptian speech. In the Middle Bronze Age apparently "alphabetic" system known as Proto-Sinaitic script is estimated by some to have been developed in central Egypt around 1700 BCE for or by Semitic workers, but only one of the early writings have been described and their properties remains open to interpretation. Based on appearances and names the letter, believed to be based on Egyptian hieroglyphs.

This script eventually developed into the Proto-Canaanite alphabet, which in turn was refined into the Phoenician alphabet. This also developed into the South Arabian alphabet, from which the Ge'ez alphabet (a abugida) are descended. Note that the script mentioned above is not considered feasible alphabet, because they all lack characters representing vowels. Vowelless alphabet is called abjads early, and still in scripts such as Arabic, Hebrew and Syriac.

Phoenix is the first major phonemic script. In contrast to the two writing systems are used extensively at the time, Cuneiform and Egyptian hieroglyphs, each containing thousands of different characters, it is only about two dozen distinct letters, so the script is simple enough for common traders to learn. Another advantage is that the Phoenix can be used to write many languages, because words are phonemically recorded.

This manuscript is spread by Phoenician, which allows Thalassocracy script to be spread throughout the Mediterranean. In Greece, the script is modified to add the vowels, giving rise to the first true alphabet. Greece took the letters do not represent the voices that are in Greek, and change them to represent vowels. This marked the formation of a "true" alphabet, with the presence of two vowels and consonants as explicit symbols in a script. In the early years, there are many variants of the Greek alphabet, a situation that causes many different alphabets evolved.

Fresh and Original Interiors from Ryann Ford

Ryann author is a artist who is specialized  in architecture, design and tourism. We found this amazing photos on her site related to the person of our interest, interior design. Some of the rooms in the pictures below really managed to catch our attention: a room with brick-walls and wooden furniture, a  living-room with words written on the walls, a reddened room with interesting paintings, a chandelier made entirely out of photos, a king-size classic bed. The overall image is that of space, heterogeneity and originality. We also same the fact that all the items seem to integrate perfectly in their environment. Even the cat has the same color as the room it so carelessly sits in. – via Desire to Inspire
